Montgomery County Jail Arrest Details

The Montgomery County Jail is at 330 West Second Street, Dayton, OH 45422. Phone is (937) 225-4160 for general info. Bond questions go to (937) 224-8447. The jail is the main booking site for Dayton arrests. It holds adults charged with crimes in the county.

The jail uses video visits only. Each inmate gets two 30-minute visits per week, one per day max. Lobby visits are free. You must sign up at www.smartinmate.com at least one day ahead. If you lack internet, call 888-843-1972 to book. Lobby hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week. Visitors must wear shirts and shoes. Tank tops, see-through tops, and swimsuits are not allowed.

To add funds for an inmate, use the kiosk in the jail lobby. It runs all day, every day. The kiosk takes Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and cash. No personal checks. Online deposits go through www.jailatm.com. You can also mail a money order to the jail.

All mail goes through MailGuard. Letters are scanned and put on kiosks inside the jail. The originals are destroyed after scanning. Send mail to: Montgomery County Jail, INMATE NAME-ID NUMBER, 330 West Second Street, Dayton, OH 45422. Leave off the ID number and the letter comes back to you. Bond can be posted any time at the Inmate's Property Room Window. A surcharge of up to $85.00 applies on top of the bond amount.
